Equine & Rural Planning were thrilled to be instructed in the design and planning of a new high-end equestrian facility to accommodate up to 100 horses, for private clients in the South of England.
Our client brief was to design a high-end facility to house up to 100 horses, along with all associated facilities, including grooms quarters on the first floor. Key consideration was given to an appropriate layout to accommodate such a high number of horses, whilst ensuring that the day-to-day running of the yard remained practical with key facilities easily accessible. The yard also needed to maintain a relaxed and luxury feel, rather than an overtly commercial vibe.
In addition to the typical facilities of a yard such as this (wash bays, solaria, tack rooms), our client wanted to include polo lines and tie up spaces within the courtyard, as well as social spaces for riders, family and friends.
The design allows all horses to have external facing stables, whilst the overhang of the roof provides shade and shelter from various weather elements.
